Technical Support Specialist

Location: Near York 

Salary: Depending on experience

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Technical Support Specialist. A successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing technical support solutions to end users, engineering, part-sales team, production, and other internal departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for in-service systems, ensuring timely responses to technical support inquiries.

• Recreate customer reported issues in-house to assist in problem resolution.

• Participate in the "on-call" out-of-hours rota system.

• Provide technical input during the quoting and tendering phase to understand customer requirements.

• Log and review all customer and technical support inquiries 

• Lead corrective action activities and document results.

• Provide technical insight into future product development.

• Conduct system audits and follow-up visits to vessels and systems to obtain customer feedback.

• Perform work off site as necessary.

A successful candidate will have:

• Education or qualification ONC/OND, HNC/HND, or BSc preferably in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.

• Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematic diagrams.

• Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical control systems.

• Excellent literacy and phone skills.

• Logical approach to fault finding under pressure.

• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

• Previous experience in a hands-on tools-based role.

• Experience in a customer-facing role.
