Payroll Manager
Location: Grimsby area
Salary: £33,389 - £36,828, 30

Responsibilities:
- Manage and Develop Payroll Department: Oversee the payroll department, ensuring the accurate and timely payroll of approximately 1,500 employees on a monthly basis.
- Team Management: Lead a team of 4 payroll clerks, ensuring efficient processing of payroll and pensions, including holidays, expenses, tax code adjustments, salary sacrifice, and other deductions.
- Compliance: Ensure full compliance with employment legislation and internal policies and procedures.
- Pension Management: Oversee the accurate monthly and annual returns for all pension schemes, meeting all deadlines.
- Administration: Assist with the administration of claims for extra payments and deductions, including travel, subsistence, overtime, and other authorized payments.
- Reporting: Generate reports both manually and from internal databases.
- Accuracy Monitoring: Monitor and check the accuracy of amendments to the payroll.
- Advisory Role: Provide advice to department managers and the HR team on payroll and pension updates.
- Service Standards: Review and maintain service standards within the payroll team.
Skills Required:
- Payroll Experience: Comprehensive experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using payroll software.
- Calculations Knowledge: Understanding of all payroll calculations including MSP, SSP, tax codes, holidays, etc.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills.
- Qualification: A payroll qualification is beneficial but not essential.
