PURCHASING ASSISTANT - OUTSKIRTS OF MALTON

Purchasing Assistant 

Location: Outskirts of Malton

Fixed Term Contract 

Salary: Depending on experience

We are recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant on behalf of our client near Malton. The role involves assisting the purchasing department in acquiring goods or services at the best possible price and quality, in accordance with company standards or specified requirements, and within the necessary timeframe. Responsibilities include expediting purchase orders and gathering relevant information from both internal and external sources.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Perform clerical work in conjunction with the operation of the department.
  • Expediting of purchase orders to validate delivery dates and accelerate where required.
  • Obtain quotations ad-hoc as requested from internal customers record and return.
  • Ordering of basic components and services.
  • To ensure timely purchase order placement in line with planned demand of basic components.
  • Communicate effectively at any level within the business as circumstances dictate.
  • Carry out all tasks in line with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Accurate inputting of information into the spreadsheets and computer systems
  • Vendor delivery date(s) accuracy
  • On time ordering of basic components and services
  • Carry out job tasks safely using good working practices

Key Skills:

  • Accurate and thorough with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Numerate, detail oriented and articulate
